Yotam Beery
Electric Bass and Zarb

Yotam (Mr. Yo) Beery, the cave bassist, hails from Ashdot Y'akov, a kibbutz in Israel. We asked how he got into the bass, and he wouldn't tell us. When pressed, Mr. Yo told us he studied Jazz and Classical music at the "Emek Hahula" Music School and continued his studies of Jazz at the "Rimon" School of Music.

Before moving to NYC in 2003, Mr. Yo performed extensively throughout Israel, appearing at the Prestigious Tel Aviv "Jazz Blues and Videotape" Festival, and also composed film score for "Jauni", a feature film.

In New York, Mr. Yo is pursuing a degree in Sound Engineering at the Institute of Audio Research. He has plugged into the world music scene, rocking the cave with his magic fingered stylings.

In the Cavemen, Yotam also plays the Zarb, an Iranian drum that creates extremely low frequencies to help rumble the house in Raquy and the Cavemen's percussion compositions.

You may also remember Mr. Yo from his appearances with such groups as: the Sarah Aroeste band and the Tracy Hendrix Experience.
